On 7th November 2011 Barnes & Noble slashed the price of the Nook Color down from $249 to $199 (now is it down again to $169). The November price cut came hot on the heals of Amazon releasing its new Kindle Fire full color eReader also priced at $199. Barnes and Noble also revamped their black and white eReader, branded Nook Simple Touch. It is quite a bit smaller than the previous model, weighting in at 7.5 ounces, and measuring 6.5 by 5.0 by 0.5 inches (HWD), with a new price tag of only $99. And then there is the New Nook Tablet.

News: Amazon Lights a Fire Under Nook

Kindle vs Nook news in November 2011 was that Amazon eReaders got even cheaper as Amazon lit a fire under Nook with the release in the USA of the New Kindle Fire.

Kindle Started Out In Pole Position

Now when you compare eReaders you will find that the All-New Nook is smaller, or at least shorter, lighter and has a longer battery life than Kindle, although battery life measurement systems have been hotly debated.

However in eReader comparisons with Kindle vs Nook vs Kindle the key selling point for the Nook was the new 6″ touch screen which B&N claimed made navigation very simple and of course Amazon agreed and has now gone head to head with their new Kindle Touch.
